A Big Thank You!!

Our collection - 4322 Tabs! Ryan & Jaydee exhausted after counting all of the tabs!
So it has been a couple of months since we have been able to do any posts, due to our computer going down...Yikes! But thanks to a wonderful brother-in-law, we are back in business! We have received many tabs since we last posted and are so close to our goal! Jaydee is convinced that we are going to be able to meet our goal of 5000 and more! I love to see the kids' enthusiasm and want to tell all of you that have made this a reality so far - THANK YOU! We couldn't have done it with out all of you. Since our last package from Florida, we received another fun package from our friend, Rob in New Jersey! Thanks - Rob!! We also want to send a big thank you to the Randy and Deborah Peterson family who have been collecting tabs for us from members of our community. Thank you to Marty Walker, Tina Cooper, Lori Lundblad, Natalia Peterson, the guys at Meridian Title and Mrs. Aimone for your support! Our grand total to date is 4322! We are going to collect tabs until the 3rd week in May. We are so close and are getting very excited to turn them in! Once again thanks for everything!

Wow! Florida!

Our package from Florida with 1170 Pop Tabs! We love to golf & love the pins Melissa sent us!
Displaying our pins on our bags!

What a great Christmas present we received this year! We went on vacation to Arizona to visit our good friends Cole and Eric, to come home and find a large package waiting for us at the Post Office from Florida! We couldn't believe our eyes when we opened the package from Melissa Elder and found a large amount of pop tabs! She works on the PGA Tour and also included some FedEx Cup Pins! We don't know what we were more excited about the tabs or the pins! Last summer our Grandpa bought us all golf clubs and got us hooked. We live to golf and can't wait for it to warm up so we can get going again! We put the pins on our bags so we can have them with us when we go on the course! Our Grandma Harris helped us count the tabs and there were 1170! This now brings our total to over 2000! We are so excited to be that much closer to our goal! Thanks Melissa!!!

The Answer to a Question!

Many of you have asked why we are collecting just the tab and not the whole can! I was finally able to get an answer to this question!

"Why collect only the tabs? Pop tabs are easy to collect and allow for any individual or community organization to participate. ... Tabs are also smaller and cleaner than aluminum cans enabling the Ronald McDonald House to handle the large volume they receive. We encourage you to recycle the entire aluminum can after you have saved the pull-tab for the Ronald McDonald House."

I've read many sites that have both positive and negative things to say about this. But the bottom line for me is I want my kids to see that we can achieve a goal if we put our mind to it! Thanks to you who have sent us tabs and have made it so fun!

Another Package from New Jersey!

Our package from Rob! He sent us another clue! Do you know the Identity of this Building? We called Grandpa Neilson for help!

It is the Pennsylvania State House aka Independence Hall! We now have 584 Tabs! Thanks Rob!

We were so excited today when we got our package from Rob! We had figured out his first clue and he had promised to send 100 more tabs! With his package it brings our total to 584 tabs! He also included another clue for us to figure out. After calling our Grandpa Neilson for help, we were happy to find a picture of Independence Hall on the Internet that looked just like the one Rob sent us. We also found out that it use to be called the Pennsylvania State House before it was renamed Independence Hall. Independence Hall is, by every estimate, the birthplace of the United States. It was within its walls that the Declaration of Independence was adopted. It was here that the Constitution of the United States was debated, drafted and signed. Thanks Rob...we are having so much fun!

A Package from New Jersey!

A Package from New Jersey! Wow! 102 Pop Tabs!
We had to search for the clue
to find out who was responsible
for this great feat! Do You Know?!!!

We were so excited when we got home from school today and had a package from New Jersey!!! Our mom's friend, Rob Morison lives there and he sent us 102 pop tabs! We couldn't believe our eyes when we opened the package. He also included 2 photos with a clue for us to solve. If we could tell him the names of the 2 brothers who were responsible for the amazing feat shown in the photos he would send us 100 more. After grabbing our magnifying glass, we found that the brothers were Orville and Wilbur Wright. The pics were of a Wright Flyer Replica! Thanks Rob!!!
